So many pictures, patches, and dirty laundry to sort through. This trip was one for ages. Thanks for the fun and memories. Captain Jack signing off.

Welcome home!

Captain Jack gets a nice surprise from his two youngest kids. Hope everyone else got similar welcomes.
Slept out on the ground for a couple hours last night. Bus picked us up at 4am and we are now checked in and at the departure gate. Flight 150.

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

Our plans for departure have been a little bit frustrating, but we are still on track to be back at 12:30 Vegas time. We will be very tired though.

Packing up

The campsite is down and we are just waiting for the truck to arrive to pick up stuff.

Heard that they cut off the broadcast of the arena show before the fireworks. It was probably the best part of the show. Amazing display.

Ready for the show

We got here early and are in the very front of the Western Region area. That still puts us about 100 yards from the stage.

Balloon again

Preparing the balloon for the arena show in our backyard again.

Archery

A few members of the troop check out their scores on the archery range.

Laundry

Laundry day for the troop as everyone counts up their remaining clean clothes vs the number of days left to go.
Arena show tonight will be broadcast on BYU-TV at 5:00pm LV time. Also on www.byutv.org and www.ustream.tv/shininglight. Should be a fun show.

Morning

Happy Thursday morning.

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

Been having issues in charging my iPhone here at the Jamboree, but still doing what I can to post to the blog. Just a little more delayed than before.

From the AT&T Center

Blogging this late afternoon from the AT&T Center. Sorry not too many pictures today as the boys have been scattered out to the various activities. There have been fish caught, mountain boards ridden, scuba tried out, and many many patches traded. Quite a few of the boys have been bitten by the patch trading bug and are meeting many other scouts from all over the country. Tomorrow morning is the first of two arena shows and we are looking forward to that. Other than that, it will be more of the same for the next few days as it was today. With the sheer size of the Jamboree site, it will be almost impossible to get too many pictures, but I will continue to post what I can. So far so good and now it is time for dinner. Love to all the families back home.

Kings Dominion

Successful and fun day at the theme park. Only four hats lost on roller coasters, and about 9,000 gallons of sweat in the 102 degree 85% humid air. Good thing we turned in our dirty laundry bags this morning.

Kings Dominion

A few of the victims of "The Intimidator", which has a more than 300 foot drop straight down.
On our way to Kings Dominion this morning where we will let the boys loose on the park. May be a slow day for blog entries.
